Finally the SSM2040 is BACK thanks to SSI with Dave Rossum (original designer of the SSM2040 and many others) at the helm!
We are proud to offer their new iteration of the SSM2040 (SSI2140) on a custom designed adapter to fit right into the SSM2040 footprint. This is plug and play, no soldering required.
We have tested these in the Rev 1 and 2 Prophet 5 and can confirm they sound identical, even if surrounded by old SSM2040’s.
The IC and legs are soldered onto the adapter board prior to shipment, so no assembly required!
As far as we know, this is the first commercial adapter for this new integrated circuit, and we’re thrilled to see this rare and amazing filter IC be reissued!
