After restoring over 100 OB-8’s we’re thrilled to now offer our collection of parts to fully service one!
Included in this kit:
- Replacement power supply capacitors
- Replacement capacitors for the CPU and panel boards
- Replacement capacitors for the voice boards
- Replacement IC’s for the voice boards that commonly fail
- Replacement bridge rectifier
- Written advise for general OB-8 servicing
4 extra trimmers are provided as well for oscillator calibration. Other OB-8 parts kits provide a full set of trimmers. In our experience, even the worst OB-8’s have not needed more than 1 or 2 trimmers changed. The OB-8 is one of the most stable machines ever produced, we have not found the original trimmers to contribute to any instabilities.
Note: The blanket replacement of parts is rightfully frowned upon if its used as an excuse to avoid troubleshooting the true issues of your machine. However, if your goal is to have a reliable, consistent, and high quality instrument, we consider this collection of parts to be indispensable before more work should be done.
